A Reminder to myself! ^.^

I've read the book: 'The Purpose Driven Life' a couple of years ago but I didn't really understand the meaning of it as I was not matured yet and didn't really experience the presence of God in me. (it doesn't mean I'm matured now :D)

As the time goes by and when I re-read this book from the beginning Day 1, it's so amazing and I feel like God's speaking to me through every single sentence and the impact is tremendously invaluable.
:)

When I reached to the chapter: Day 13 (the particular title is "Worship that pleases God"), I just couldn't stay without praising God on the spot because God showed me a solution which I've been searching for.

I come from a very traditional Baptist background. As I get older and lots of things also just keep on changing in my life. I have been moving from one place after another where God wants me to be. Then, I'd joined churches with different denominations. Yet, I am so used to and just stitch to my old traditional worship style that I feel uneasy in clapping hands, praising out loud, speaking other tongues, etc. though I only try to focus on the sermons. And sometimes, I even felt like I might be closer to God, be happier and feel free in worshiping the Lord if I could be in a church standing and sitting modestly in a pew, singing hymns,... Anyway, I still wanted to be clear with God and to myself regarding to this fact.

After going through the whole chapter 13... ...

... Your biggest distraction in worship is yourself - your interests and your worries over what others think about you.
... Christians often differ on the most appropriate or authentic way to express praise to God, but these arguments usually just reflect personality and background differences.
... The best style of worship is the one that most authentically represents your love for God, based on the background and personality God gave you.
... Many Christians seem stuck in a worship rut - an unsatisfying routine - instead of having a vibrant friendship with God, because they force themselves to use devotional methods or worship styles that don't fit the way God uniquely shaped them.
... There is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to worship and friendship with God. One thing is certain: You don't bring glory to God by trying to be someone he never intended you to be. God wants you to be yourself."That's the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship."

That's it. That's what I wanted to know. God is great. He knows me well. He knows my every single thought and He reveals the solution of my puzzle at the right time. :)

354. My plans for the year 2004

Were you able to accomplish all that you had planned to do this past year? Even the best intentions have a way of getting sidetracked by unexpected circumstances. And the unforeseen twists and turns of life can discourage us, or they can cause us to draw closer to our Lord and depend more on Him. So, I plan many things concerned with my religion. First, I will try to read the book "Our Daily Bread" per day. And I will make family devotions. Prayer should be our first response rather than our last resort. Then, I will attempt to go to church every Sunday. The Bible assumes that "To keep growing in Christ, keep going to church". And I will involve myself in church activities as much as I can. Moreover, as I am a student, I will attend my class regularly and there is no semester this year. Thus, we have to work hard at our studies. We should not bunk classes. If we miss class, we will not understand what we have been taught and we will be in trouble. Then, I will make an effort to become an expert at Computer Science. And I will go to the Millenium Centre steadily. Furthermore, I would like to attend the training which is held by SCM(Student Christian Movement). Then, I will attempt to sit for the exams held by the British Council. I will work at playing violin and guitar to gain skill. Finally, I want to say that we should carry over good deeds from last year. Therefore, I will try to obey my parents' advice, show respect to elders, be under God's guidance, refuse to oppress widows, orphans and the poor, and become an idol of my family, school and church.

After reading it to Sir U Tun Aung Kyaw, he even made a joke by adding the word "Amen" at the end of my last sentence.

Time flies very fast and now, I am a young lady of a certain age. Of course, my ways of thinking also change accordingly.

For this coming year, what do I wanna be and what am I going to do? What is my desire? What are my plans? Surprisingly, I am totally blue! I can't think of even what I wanna do let alone what I'm supposed to do. I had encountered some unexpected calamities these past few years... but I really thank God for all what He has done for me. All are precious to me which I can't learn from our formal school. But, I become very very fed up with these secular things and so, right now, I'm just keen to taste the real happiness and get hands on a peaceful mind.

How?
Like my aunty Mary said,

"Surrender! Give your whole heart to God. That's it!"

369. What is your idea of a perfect holiday?

Our life will become wishy-washy and unhappy if we work all the time and have no rest or recreation. So, holidays are needed by us. Most people use up their holidays by going on picnics or vacation. They mostly go to places of natural beauty for relaxation and to forget their worries as natural beauty gives them pleasure and they can feel at peace with the world. And for students, they go on excursions. They may think this kind of holiday is perfect as the main object of such a trip is to get recreation or to widen one's general outlook on life. Then, holidays are valuable thus I always think out a way to spend a day in the country. But, I had never succeeded. Somehow or another my plans had gone hay-wire. Therefore, I planned at some length with my friends to go to San Lwin Village last year. As the proverb goes "Well begun is Half-done", all of us considered it was a perfect holiday when we came back to Taunggyi. But, I did not think so because my mind had changed and I only wanted to read books and stay alone. So, I was not happy as I expected. From then on, I realize that a perfect holiday for me is one when I can be happy, can enjoy doing what I like and can fulfill my wishes. I want to have such a holiday whether it is only a day or a longer period of time. On that day, I will have my breakfast with my loving aunty who lives alone. Then, we will do the house-hold chores together. I'm sure I'll be happy though I feel uncomfortable in doing those kinds of work which I have never done before. Next, we will go shopping and go around the town in her little car. After that, we will go back home and talk as long as we can. In the evening, we will have our dinner and watch TV.
However, I know it is just a reverie.

An essay which changed part of my life!

In this dog eat dog world, we have to deal with many different people daily. Some people are good-mannered but some are not. So, we have to be careful when dealing with people in society. Among them, we usually choose and praise people whom we admire. But, people are of different minds. Some worship people who give their life for religion. Some respect leaders of the country. Some appreciate scientists, pioneers or innovators. Some adore famous artistes, musicians or sport men. Some idolize well-known authors or poets. And some esteem their parents: father, mother or both. As for me, the person I admire most is my teacher who is from my computer college.

I know her even personally. She is from Taunggyi, too. She is single and young. She is very bonny as she possesses long black hair, thick and pitch-black eyebrows and bright eyes. Then, she is stylish and always dresses neatly. I admire her because of both her good figure and her personality traits. Everyone can notice that she is an honest and polite lady by just looking at her face. Moreover, she values modesty as well as discipline.

It took many years for this person to become successful. She had to overcome much trouble. Both of her parents are dead. After undergoing much difficulties, she became an expert at Computer Science as she had self-confidence. She has done many good deeds. She imparts much knowledge to the young. I reckon that it is vital and very useful because the future is in the hands of the youths of today. Her work of teaching is fruitful not only for one pupil but also for many pupils who will grow up.

I love her like an auntie and she also does in return as her niece. She guides me in everything. Although we are not of the same religion, she is so pious and always tells me to go to Church every Sunday. She is not proud in spite of being wealthy. She is generous and usually donates some things to orphanages and homes for the aged. She stays by my side and gives me support, confidence and help whenever I am in need. And she encourages me to be diligent. She explains my lessons patiently which I do not understand without exception. She urges me to attend classes regularly and put effort on my studies. Because of her, my attendance has become regular and sometimes I want to remain a student forever.

She is an optimist and has a kind heart, too. She wants all of the people in the world to live peacefully. She is very friendly and cheerful. Furthermore, she is lively and intelligent. She likes to read books as she is a nerd. She always reminds me to read good books and directs me which books I should read. Whenever I meet her, I can get at least one advice and some knowledge.

Nevertheless, she is good at playing table-tennis. She lives alone and I often visit her. At that time, we play it with pleasure and I assist her in doing house chores just as I do for my mother. Then, the thing which is the same with my mother, also a great lady for me, is that she has always provided stability for me with full of laughter, full of tears and full of love.

In conclusion, I want to succeed like her. She says life is what you make of it. To be successful like her, I must do my utmost. First of all, I have to attempt to get a Master's Degree in Computer Science and then sit for Entrance for the Faculty of Education where teachers of higher classes are trained. Finally, I want to say that so much of love what I have become is because of her. I appreciate her, thank her and love her more than words can express.
